About Me

I am a Licensed Counseling Psychologist practicing in Summit County, Colorado. I earned my PhD from the University of Northern Colorado in 2012.  My clinical areas of specialty include trauma, depression & anxiety, infertility and perinatal/post partum issues, LGBTQ issues, men’s issues, integrated health care, social justice, supervision/training and relational work. As a Psychologist, I am trained to work with various issues related to well-being and distress. I am also a bilingual Spanish speaking provider and I work with individuals, couples and groups.

I have also pursued specialized training in EMDR level I & II (trauma care), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Mindful Self Compassion, Comprehensive Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, Transgender Healthcare, Reiki and Classical Hatha Yoga. I utilize these modalities to inform treatment approach and the therapeutic process.

Above all, my approach is holistic and relational.  I give the utmost attention to the therapeutic relationship as well as how people relate to others in their lives. I am careful to consider individuals in the greater context of mind-body, spirituality, family, culture and social status. It is important to me that my clients feel a real connection to me as a therapist. For this reason I work to bring genuineness, warmth, challenge, and humor to my work with clients.

In addition to my work as a Psychologist, I formerly served as the Chief Behavior Health Officer for the Summit Community Care Clinic in Frisco, CO for several years. I have a great deal of experience training and supervising early career Counselors and Psychologists and leadership development. In addition to my tenure at the Care Clinic, I also worked at the Colorado State University Health Network, and currently serve as adjunct faculty for the University of Northern Colorado as well as on several organization boards including: Building Hope, Colorado Psychological Association and Rocky Mountain Health Foundation. I have worked on several program development projects related to Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Substance Use Disorder Programming, Early Childhood Services, Internship Training, Crisis Services, and Community Systems/Collective Impact work.

More personally, I grew up just outside Chicago before finding my home in Summit County. My journey to this point found me living in Costa Rica, Oregon, and Montana before I landed in Colorado for school. Summit County has been my home for over 8 years now and I am grateful for the amazing community work that happens here related to wellness and mental health. When I am not in the office you may find me running or biking around town in the warmer months, nordic skiing in the winter, or enjoying some of the other local offerings in the County year round. I also enjoy cooking and gardening, and taking my dogs out to run in the woods.
